Holiday Packing

With less than two weeks to go until we fly to California my thoughts are turning to packing.

There are a lot of decisions in play when it comes to packing for a three week trip that spans the hot and sweaty climes of Las Vegas through to the chillier temperatures deep in the heart of Yosemite.
One huge perk of the packing process for me is that it lets my imagination run wild about the adventures ahead. With each potential outfit my mind starts pondering where I'll be and what I'll be doing while wearing those clothes.

I find myself thinking, 'I might put that on for the 49ers game' or 'This dress would work well for dinner in L.A.' And that kind of internal chit chat sets my vacation excitement levels soaring.

It reinforces the fact that I'm going on holiday! For three long weeks!

The countdown is on baby!

P.S. Feel free to let me know if there is any item you think I absolutely MUST pack!

  1. Haha you're very good for packing so early. I recently came back from a 7 week trip to LA and Canada and I didn't pack until the night before/morning of the flight. Ah well, my wardrobe isn't that big so it didn't take too long. My problem is I want to take everything ! I hope you have a great time :)

    1. The night before! You're a braver woman than I.

But I suppose if you forget something in your last-minute pack you have the perfect excuse to shop. And I like the sound of that. x

  2. I am such a neurotic early packer, I was ready for our most recent Paris trip a full 3 months before. We're talking all of the outfits I planned were folded and waiting to go in a suitcase, meaning I had a week's worth of clothing I just didn't touch or wear before the flight. Insane, right? You are going to have such a good time! Just pack lots of light layers so you're never too cold or too hot. Have a great trip! xo

    1. I'm not going to lie - 3 months does sound slightly excessive. But, hey, you've got a system that works for you and that's all that matters! Thanks for the light layers tip x
