Fjallraven Kanken Rucksacks

A while ago I started to notice an ever-increasing number of people carrying rucksacks with a foreign label I didn't recognise. Fjallraven Kanken.

At first I thought it was a tourist thing but then a colleague of mine walked in with her very own Fjallraven Kanken rucksack and I became intrigued. Turns out its a Swedish brand that's been around for decades and the translation means 'arctic fox'. Which does make sense, since there is a stylised fox as part of the logo!

Now summer is in full swing and day trips/weekends away happen more regularly (I have a weekend away happening this Sat & Sun in fact!) it may be a handy addition to my accessory collection. There's a simplicity in the nature of the designs and the block of colour which gives Fjallraven Kanken a timeless appeal - clearly other people think the same as its a brand that's still alive and kicking since the 1960s!
